Instantes approach to our natural surrounds

Join our journey of towards Zero Waste. Our panels are ~97% by volume.

Actively reducing humanity’s solid waste footprint

Did you know up to 30% of the volume of landfill is polystyrene? It is little known that polystyrene contribute such a big impact. Expanded polystyrene (EPS) is a non biodegradable material.

Our panels are made using upcylced EPS destined for landfill which give both structure and lightness. This reduces the amount of gypsum clay (the main virgin material) we use to print on, as well as helps for more safe and sustainable transport.

We ultimately believe that society at large will be better off to move away from EPS to a more environmentally beneficial materials (e.g. mushroom mycelium). Hopefully that day arrives soon!`

Instantes Sustainability Pledge

We commit to minimising our impact on the planet and all it's beings (plant, animal and fungi). We commit to continuous improvement and being open to new ideas.

Solar Panel

We use 100% green energy and would love to eventually have a site 100% powered off renewables.

Energy use

Sculpting Materials

Other materials and printing

We are continually looking for ways to improve our process and minimise our overall impact.

Our panels still use ~3% (by volume) virgin Gypsum stone which is mined. We would love to eventually move away from this material.

Our printing use UV inks which are derived from organic compounds and we are able to recycle cartridges. If you have any suggestions on ways we can improve our processes and materials we would love to hear from you! Please mail us at sustainability@instantes.com.au
